The delegation, led by Brigadier Mubashir Ahmed Abbasi, comprised men and women from across the country, including representatives from politics, religious circles, media, sports, business, and academia. The 12-day National Workshop Khyber Pakhtunkhwa aims to promote peace and stability in the province. Governor Faisal Karim Kundi warmly welcomed the workshop participants to the Governor House. During the interaction, the participants raised questions regarding sustainable peace and stability in the province, eradication of terrorism, and provincial rights. Addressing the participants, the Governor emphasized the need for a one-point agenda against terrorism. He said that unfortunately, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has been severely affected by the changing situation in Afghanistan, adding that weapons left behind by global powers are being used by terrorists in the province. The Governor said that the root cause of all problems is the lack of law and order, stressing that development and prosperity are impossible without peace. He urged people from all walks of life to play their role in establishing lasting peace. Recalling the past, Faisal Karim Kundi said that when the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) came into power earlier, the law and order situation was extremely poor. However, the PPP government initiated the journey towards peace by adopting a joint strategy in consultation with all political parties and institutions. He added that a successful operation in Swat restored peace and enabled displaced people to return to their homes with dignity. The Governor said that today Khyber Pakhtunkhwa once again faces serious challenges of terrorism and stressed that all political parties must unite and move forward collectively to safeguard provincial rights.
