Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi on Wednesday visited the sitin of Kurram district people and assured to resolve their problem.
Flanked by former federal minister Sajid Hussain Turi and MPA Riaz Khan, the Governor visited the sitin outside Peshawar Press Club and said that it was a tragic and unforgettable incident which claimed the lives of more than 40 persons.
The Governor said that after the 18th Amendment the powers have been shifted to provinces.
He said that it was the responsibility of the Chief Minister and IGP to visit Kurram in helicopter and play role.
He said that issue should be resolved according to traditions of the area.
He said that we have grief and sorrow over the demise and injured persons.
The Governor asked the federal and provincial government to pay to the affected families.
The Governor assured to play role as a bridge between center and province to resolve all the problems.
It is worth to mention here that the residents of Kurram District have been holding a protest camp outside the Peshawar Press Club for the last several days, demanding immediate action to address their grievances.
The camp, which has seen features banners outlining their key demands.
The protesters are calling for an immediate ceasefire in Kurram District, the reopening of the Thall-Parachinar road, and the urgent transfer of all injured individuals to Peshawar.
They are also demanding immediate implementation of a commission established to resolve land disputes, the dismantling of all posts under administrative supervision, and urgent measures to establish peace in the district.
