Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Faisal Karim Kundi, on Sunday said that the shrine of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti Ajmer Sharif stands as a powerful symbol of interfaith harmony, peace, and love values that are urgently needed in today’s divided world. 

He was speaking at a prestigious ceremony held at the Islamabad Club to mark the nomination of Dr. Afshan Malik (Shehr Bano) as the official representative (Khalifa) of Dargah Ajmer Sharif in Pakistan.

The event brought together prominent figures from political, social, business, journalistic, and diplomatic circles.
Governor Faisal Karim Kundi, was the chief guest at the ceremony. Congratulating Dr. Afshan Malik on her nomination, he lauded her commitment to Sufi values and service to the community. 

In his address, Governor Kundi highlighted the universal appeal of Ajmer Sharif, saying, "The shrine of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti is among the most revered spiritual sites in South Asia, attracting not only Muslims but Hindus, Sikhs, and Christians alike. It stands as a symbol of interfaith harmony, peace, and love."

Referring to rising communal tensions in India, he said, “At a time when interfaith harmony is under serious threat in India, spiritual sanctuaries like Ajmer Sharif stand as bastions of truth, tolerance, and resistance.”

Speaking at the event, the Ambassador of Uzbekistan, Alisher Qodirov, emphasized the influence of Khwaja Gharib Nawaz and other Sufi saints across South and Central Asia.
