Governor  Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Faisal Karim Kundi, emphasized the vital role of higher education in shaping the future of the youth, saying that educated young people represent the bright future of the nation. He added that students from the province are second to none in terms of talent and capability, and stressed the need to align higher education with modern-day challenges and global standards.

The Governor expressed these views while addressing the 17th Convocation of Sarhad University of Science and Information Technology (SUSIT) Peshawar on Thursday, where he participated as the chief guest. The ceremony was also attended by Guest of Honour Dr. Qasim Jan, former caretaker provincial minister, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Salim-ur-Rehman, faculty members, graduating students, and their parents. During the convocation, Governor Kundi awarded degrees to 225 graduates from various disciplines including Bachelor’s, MS, MPhil, and PhD programs. He also conferred gold medals upon 38 high-achieving students.

In his address, the Governor congratulated the students, their parents, and the faculty on their academic success. He lauded the Sarhad University administration for their educational contributions over the past 24 years. Addressing the graduates, he urged them to apply their education meaningfully and play a role in the development of the province. Governor Kundi praised the services of Sarhad University and other private sector institutions in advancing education. The Governor proposed establishing similar distance education centers in the newly merged tribal districts and assured full support from the Governor House to facilitate this expansion.
