Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi in a meeting with Principal of the College of Home Economics, University of Peshawar, Professor Dr. Shazia Khan at the Governor House on Thursday discussed the development of the education sector, particularly the significance of home economics education. During the meeting, Dr. Shazia Khan briefed the Governor on the academic performance and initiatives of the institution in promoting home economics education.

She highlighted the efforts being made to equip students with practical knowledge and skills that are essential for personal and economic empowerment. Governor Kundi underscored the need to provide women with greater opportunities to participate in economic activities, emphasizing that economic empowerment is key to women's independence. "A large number of educated women in our province do not pursue formal employment. We must encourage them to initiate income-generating activities from their homes and ensure full government support in this regard," he said. “There is a dire need to modernize this discipline so that it aligns with today’s demands and enables women to become more productive contributors to society,” the Governor added.
