ISLAMABAD: 2nd JULY 2025.
Member of the Kashmir Council and son of former Speaker of the AJK Assembly, Sardar Siyab Khalid, Sardar Adnan Siyab Khalid, along with former Special Assistant to the AJK Government Sardar Imtiaz Shaheen, formally announced their decision to join the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP). The announcement was made during a brief yet graceful ceremony held at the residence of senior PPP leader Chaudhry Riaz. Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi welcomed the new entrants by presenting them with the party's flag-themed mufflers and congratulating them on their inclusion in the PPP ranks. Also present at the ceremony were former AJK Prime Minister Sardar Tanveer Ilyas, MLA Chaudhry Ali Shan Soni, AJK Transport Minister Javed Butt, AJK Government Adviser Sardar Ahmad Saghir, MLA Rafiq Nayyar, and Sardar Umar Tanveer.
Speaking on the occasion, Governor Faisal Karim Kundi said the PPP is a truly people-centric party, committed to upholding democratic values. He reaffirmed the party's historic and ongoing dedication to the Kashmir cause, saying the legacy of Shaheed Zulfikqar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto. He added that PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is determined to carry forward this vision. Governor Kundi expressed optimism about the future, saying that Bilawal Bhutto Zardari would become the Prime Minister of Pakistan and a dedicated PPP leader would also soon lead Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
