Youth entrepreneurship key to economic growth: Governor Kundi
PESHAWAR, Sep 18, 2026:
Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi on Friday said that young entrepreneurs were playing an important role in strengthening the economy, adding that sustainable peace, employment opportunities and economic development were essential for the progress of the province.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony of Sohaib Food Industries at Deans Trade Centre, Shiraz Arena here, the Governor congratulated the young management of the company on launching their business despite tough competition in the food sector.
He said establishing a business in the food industry was a challenging task, but the young entrepreneurs had succeeded in making their mark in the market within a short period, which was commendable.
Kundi said the talented youth of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were also bringing laurels to the country in sports, citing the recent outstanding performance of Mardan-based cricketer Razaullah in England.
He appreciated the resilience of industrialists and businesspersons of the province who, despite security challenges, had continued their commercial activities.
The Governor said all stakeholders should work together to ensure lasting peace, development and prosperity in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Later, talking to media, Kundi expressed regret over the recent statements of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, saying such remarks promoted provincialism at a time when efforts were being made to strengthen the federation.
He said decisions in a democratic system should be made through Parliament and stressed that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa could not afford another long march.
The Governor said the province required special attention, particularly to address the issues of law and order and unemployment.
Referring to security arrangements in Islamabad, he said containers had been placed to maintain security and prevent any untoward incident, adding that necessary measures had been taken to avoid violence and bloodshed.
