Governor stresses modern education, girls' empowerment

PESHAWAR, Oct 8: Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi on Thursday underscored the importance of quality education and modern skills, saying that schools were not merely institutions for imparting academic knowledge but centres for shaping the future of the nation.

Addressing the Peshawar Model Girls High School-2 Champion Award Ceremony at the Governor House, he said students, particularly girls, must be equipped with science, technology, research, creativity, critical thinking and other modern skills to meet the challenges of the rapidly changing world.

The ceremony was attended by Principal of Peshawar Model Girls High School-2 Ambareen Saleem, students and their parents. Awards were also distributed among outstanding students and teachers in recognition of their academic achievements.

The Governor congratulated the school's administration, principal, teachers, parents and especially the award-winning students, appreciating the institution's consistent excellence in the field of education.

He said the world was rapidly advancing towards artificial intelligence and emerging technologies, making it essential to provide the youth of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with modern education and opportunities to compete globally.

Governor Kundi said educating girls was an investment in the future of society, as educated women played a vital role in the upbringing of future generations and the overall development of the country.
