Governor Kundi, Amir Muqam discuss KP security, political situation
PESHAWAR, Oct 10: Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi and Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit Baltistan Engr Amir Muqam held a meeting on Saturday here at Governor House to discuss the overall law and order situation in the province, the proposed long march and other important political matters.
During the meeting, both leaders reviewed the prevailing security situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and exchanged views on issues of mutual interest, particularly the political environment in the province.
According to a joint statement issued after the meeting, Governor Kundi and Amir Muqam thanked the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, saying they had rejected the politics of unrest and confrontation.
They reiterated that the federal government would continue taking all possible measures to restore lasting peace, strengthen security and accelerate public welfare and development in the province.
The two leaders also observed that the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had grown frustrated with terrorism and what they described as political elements promoting instability, reaffirming the federal government's commitment to ensuring peace and stability in the province.
