Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi on Sunday said that educated and skilled youth are the guarantors of the country’s bright future and urged young graduates to utilize their education and abilities for national development. He was addressing the Annual Convocation 2025 of Allama Iqbal Open University Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chapter as the chief guest at Nishtar Hall, Peshawar. The convocation was attended by Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Nasir Mahmood, DG Regional Services Dr. Malik Tauqeer Khan, Registrar Major (R) Umar Younas, Controller Examinations Zahid Khaki, faculty members, students, and their parents. The Governor appreciated the role of Allama Iqbal Open University in providing education to all segments of society through the distance learning system. 

He said that extending access to education to people in remote and underserved areas from their homes was a remarkable initiative, adding that the university has earned national and international recognition in the field of distance and open learning. Governor Kundi congratulated the graduating students, their parents, and faculty members, and acknowledged their contribution to promoting quality and modern education. On the occasion, he distributed degrees among 144 graduates and awarded gold medals to 15 students for outstanding academic performance. He said that the government is providing all possible facilities to both public and private educational institutions, and a significant portion of the annual budget is allocated to the education sector. Addressing the graduates, the Governor advised them to uphold their cultural values and traditions while striving to bring honor and distinction to the province and the country.

Earlier, Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Nasir Mahmood thanked the Governor for attending the ceremony and encouraging the students, and briefed the audience on the overall performance and achievements of the university.
