Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi on Friday said the province's youth possessed immense talent but had not received the level of investment they deserved, stressing that the future belonged to information technology (IT) and artificial intelligence (AI), and that greater investment in these sectors was essential.

Addressing a ceremony during his visit to the National Incubation Centre (NIC) Peshawar, the Governor said all stakeholders must work together to ensure the development and prosperity of young people.

The event was attended by NIC Project Director Asim Ishaq Khan, entrepreneurs, youth and representatives from the business community. The NIC Project Director briefed the Governor on the institution's performance and ongoing projects.

The Governor said National Incubation Centres should also be established in the southern and northern districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to expand opportunities for young innovators.

He proposed the development of a digital application to connect youth with companies and employment opportunities across the province.

He assured full cooperation from the Governor House for the NIC and said Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had the largest youth population among the four provinces, making investment in young people a national priority.

Faisal Karim Kundi said stronger coordination between the provincial government and banks was necessary to facilitate investment in youth-led initiatives.

He also emphasized the need to establish modern IT laboratories and provide advanced training in information technology to equip young people with future-ready skills.

During the visit, the Governor inspected stalls set up by startups and appreciated the work of entrepreneurs in the fields of IT, AI, cybersecurity and innovation. He also received a commemorative shield from the NIC.
